This book is starting to get interesting! At first I didn't like this book because I thought it was boring, but now it's really exciting! -Delia from Mass.

Last year when our school had to read this book I had difficulty getting into the story too. I did eventually get caught up in the plot and more importantly, so did my students. We had some really interesting discussions playing the “what if” game - “What if you were the one to find the scabs?” We even used Google Earth to locate the old hospital mentioned in the story on Roosevelt Island. The remains of it are still at the southern tip of the island. In fact, on the way back from our school’s trip to DC, we drove through New York and we even got to see the island from East River Drive.
