This book is about a young Navajo boy who grows up being told the Navajo language is a bad language. When he turns 17 he signs up for the U. S. marines and they embrace his language as a code for their military against the Japanese in World War II. The most exciting part of the book was the extremely large battle of Iwo Jima. The best thing about this book was that it described pieces of history in great detail and the worst thing about it were when it talked about people dying in the battles. I think anyone who likes history and battle scenes would like this book.
