The Call of the Wild by Jack London

Buck, a spoiled Beverly Hills type dog, is captured and sent to trudge through harsh weather conditions to deliver packages for people all over the place. He must overcome sore paws, frostbite, hunger, and death of good friends. The most exciting part of the book was when Buck’s instructor falls off the mountain and needs to be rescued. The best things about this book were that it was very suspenseful and thrilling. I did not like all of the violence or the challenged vocabulary. I think that people who love dogs or even animals would like this story. Also, people who like suspenseful and sad stories.

A girl Sam is in a very tough situation right now in her life. Her dad has a major drinking addiction and is trying to get as much help as possible. The most exciting part was when Sam she had lots of friends that could support her through this rough time.The best part about this book was that her dad is getting so much help he is actually becoming better. I thought the worst part of this book was when Sam’s dad goes absolutely crazy because he drank too much that day, (more than ever). I think someone who enjoys reading about people’s problems and trying to solve them would really like this book. Also someone who problems need to be fixed themselves, or if they are experiencing the same thing as Sam.

This story is about four best friends that are going away for the summer so they went over Carmen house to hang out while she was packing then they found the pants and they all tried them on an they fit all of them even though there all different sizes so they thought they were magical and kept sending them to each other while they were on vacation. I think that the most exciting part in this book is when everyone was away they all met a new friend or a guy that they liked. The best part in the book was that Carmen finally got to see her dad for the first time in a while and one of the worst things was that she got mad at her dad because he was getting married so she threw a rock at his window and ran away all the way back to her house(she took a plane home the next day). I think the person that that would read this book would be a person that likes love and romance and also someone who travels a lot.

This book was about all the different sisters going off in all different ways for the summer but are still connected together by a simple pair of pants. I think that the most exciting part of the book was when Carmen got mad at her dad. The most exciting part about this book was it was very detailed and the worst part about this book was that it was so detailed sometimes that they talked about the same thing for ten pages. I think that most teenage girls who like really strong friendships would like this book.

The main character, Sal Tree Hiddle, lived in Bybanks, Kentucky. Her mom left when she was very young to go see her sister. Then Grams, Gramps, and Sal all pack up and go on a road trip to Lewiston, Idaho to go find her mom. And on the way she tell stories about her new friend in Euclid, Ohio. Phoebe was her name. Then they get there and the biggest shock. The most exciting part of the book was when the letters were left on the door steps and they had to solve the riddles. The best part of the book was the experiences of the trip and the letters with the riddles to solve. The worst thing about this book is when they got to Lewiston and had the shock of their lives. I recommend this book to people who love mysterious and suspenseful endings.

The most exciting part of the book was when a boy liked Kate but Marilyn really had a big crush on the same boy. The worst part was when the two good friends stopped being friends. The best part was when they realized how stupid it was to give up their friendship for a boy, and they became friends again. I think that young girls would like this book because, most girls give up a good friendship for stupid things and this book teaches girls how to keep their friendship last long.

The most exciting part about this book was when her friends go away on a trip, and everything in her life goes completely wrong. She meets a guy on the internet, after breaking up with her boyfriend, and he seems really into her. Plus, she's really into him. Then, she asks his hobby, and he tells her something really gross. But you'll have to read it to find out what it was. The best part of this book was the excitement. It was one of those books that I couldn't put down. The worst part was how at times, it was hard to follow, because on one page, the narrator will be speaking, and on the next page, Karen will be speaking. I think any teenage girl, that is into reading diary- like books would like this book because it is like Karen's diary. I don't think boys should read this book.

Massie, Claire, and Alicia get invited to audition for a movie, Dial L for Loser. When they get to Hollywood , Massie and Alicia know that they will get the part. Claire doesn’t really care if she will get the part or not. When they get to the audition Alicia and Massie were wrong! Claire got the part. But when she gets the part her world is turned upside down and doesn’t know who to trust. The most exiting part of the book is when Claire gets the lead role. The worst part is when Massie and Alicia take a picture of Claire and Conner kissing (for a scene) and Cam, Claire’s boyfriend breaks up with her. The best part is when they all go back to there hometown and Claire and Cam makeup again. Girls would most likely like this book. If you like girl-girl drama this book is definitely for you!

The most exciting part of the book was when Beano and the Baton High play the game because you don’t know if Beano’s going to mess up the game for them or help them. The worst thing about this book was when someone would get into a conversation and thy would talk for about 4-7 pages. People who like football or sports would enjoy this book. A coach of a team would like this book because it has to do with coming up with strategies for a game. I enjoy football and most sports so that is why I enjoyed this book so much.

The war is still going on and you can feel the adrenaline rushing as the bullets fly past him just missing by inches. The best thing about the book is it’s different, it starts with the end. Olives Ocean was about a girl named Martha and the beginning of the story this girl she barely knew died. And she got this journal from the girl, and it said how she liked Martha and how she was nice. Then in the summer she went to visit her grandmother’s house in Florida for the most of the summer. Martha’s neighbor, Jimmy, was making a movie and had her in it. But he pretends to like her, but Martha doesn’t know that until later on in the story. It it goes through what she’s doing and what happens. I would think the most exciting thing in the book is in between the middle and the end. For example, when Martha thinks that Jimmy likes her, and along with when they are filming the movie. And what is going on at the house. And then ending, which I can’t say! The best things about this book is that you can get into it, and it was a book for me that I couldn’t put down. The bad thing was that in the beginning it was sad. I think that people who like drama/ sad books will like this book very much.

This book takes place in the future and has many new inventions in it. In Tally’s world, everyone is either a Littlie, an Ugly, a Pretty, a Crumbly, or any type of Special Circumstance or surgeon. When you turn sixteen, you undergo a huge surgery where they redo your body to make you a pretty but this surgery has a not-so-good addition that changes the world when Tally comes along. Read the book to find out!
At the end of the first book of this series, there is a main quote by Tally that just connects with the next book Pretties.The best things about this book were the many adventures Tally went through to try to overcome Special Circumstances. The worst things about this book were when people died (sorry!) and when they went too far into the scientifics about the new, futuristic inventions. Anyone who enjoys realistic fiction with a futuristic/scientific twist will enjoy this book!

The main idea the book is four girls who were best friends. They are inseparable and this summer they’re going there separate ways. Tibby, the only one staying home meets some new friends that will make a leave a large footprint in her heart. Lena goes to Greece with her family and Carmen visits her dad and his new family which she’s not to happy about. Bridget who goes through the most I think, goes away this summer to Soccer Camp and little does she know, it will have a devastating ending. Before they go, the one thing that can keep them together are the magical pants Carmen found that surprisingly fits all four girls. The most exciting part of the book for me was when Lena told Kostos how she felt about him after getting him in so much trouble with not only her parents but his as well. I loved how she could just blurt it out then expect to leave like nothing happened. The best thing about this book was when they were all back home and together right before the summer ended. The worst part was definitely when Bailey had to go to the hospital and Tibby being the coward she is couldn’t face her. The other thing I really didn’t like was when Bridget went in to depression after Eric treated her so badly. These parts were the saddest and I didn’t like it. I think mostly girls who are into realistic fiction will like it. It’s has some drama in it but not like anything to bad, so I think that’s good.

I think people who like fairytales and fiction will really enjoy this book and people who don’t like fiction may also like it to because it can be funny, sad, happy and much more.

I think almost any girl from the age of ten to fourteen would really enjoy and love this book.

Once she gets into school, she is instantly popular! At lunch her first day she notices an exceptionally beautiful boy with bronze hair staring at her. During the middle of the book they become good friends. It ends with them being boyfriend and girlfriend. It also ends with a captivating exerpt to the sequel. The most exciting part of this book was when Edward (the vampire) and Bella (the human) play baseball. Well, Edward and his family of vampires play while Bella watches with Esme (Edward’s “mother”). The game is very new to Bella, she isn’t a fan of sports! The best part of this book was the action and the description of friendship. Bella became good friends with Alice, Edward’s sister. The worst part of this book was the ending. I felt that it left me hanging at the end. I think fans of fiction will really like this book. It has lots of fantasy and exciting plots. However, it is a long book so if you do choose to read it you must be ready!

The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian

This book was about this boy named Josh who is very anti-consumer who creates an alter ego “Larry”. Larry then turns into the website “www.the gospel according to larry.com”, but no one knows its him. The most exciting part of this book was when Beta Gold discovered his true identity. There was nothing bad about the book except the ending but there is another book. The best part about this book in my opinion were the sermons because they really made me think. Anyone could find something good about this book but the age group I think it appeals to is middle school/high school kids.

Flush by Carl Hiaasen

Noah’s dad is certain that the owner of the Coral Queen is flushing sewage into the harbor/local beach and he’s determined to prove it. Soon, Noah and his sister Abbey, help prove their crazy dad is right with their helpful allies. Throughout the book though, there are more things to the story such as bullies and a dead grandpa. The most exciting part of the book was when Noah and Abbey put their secret plan into action and attempted to escape without being noticed. The best thing about this book was that it kept your reading because there was always something to be excited about in the next chapter, and you just can’t wait for it! While reading this book, I noticed that there aren’t any bad things about it. I think anyone who likes an exciting book because this one keeps you reading.

Scrambled Eggs at Midnight by Brad Barkley and Heather Hepler

This book is about the journey that two teenagers have to go through. It combines two totally different worlds, and how they both end up fitting perfectly together in there lives at the end of the book. The most exiting part of this book was when Eliot and Calliope first met. I thought that this was the most exiting part of the book because if was funny, and it was like they had known each other their whole lives. The best part of this book was when Eliot and Calliope were in a paddle boat in a huge lake. Calliope was saying how she wanted to “” falling.” What she meant, was that she wanted to float over the reflection of the moon and “fall” into it. The worst part of the book was in the very beginning because you had no idea what was happening in the book and it was really boring. But it really picked up after a little while and I’m really glad that I didn’t stop and that I had kept on reading. I think that the majority of the people who read this book will be girls because it is romantic.

Fire Star by Chris D’lacey

It’s the third book in a series, the first book is called The Fire Within, and the second one is called Ice Fire. In the beginning of this series David Rain moves in with the Pennykettles: Elizabeth Pennykettle (Liz for short) and Lucy. They make little clay dragons and there lots of them all around the house, but the strange thing is, they’re alive! Now they need to save the world from the evil Gwillanna. Fire Star got very exciting near the end when everyone was in the arctic together trying to rescue Gawain, the first dragon ever! If you ask me this book was just great the whole way through, with no worst parts. Except for one little sad detail at the end, but I won’t give anything away. I think this series is great for anyone who likes fantasy or dragons.

I did not finish it yet, but the book is about the world of Artemis Fowl, a human, and the world of Holly, an elf. The two worlds meet, but not in a good way. Artemis, who is a criminal mastermind, wants to aquire a lot of fairy gold. The most exciting part was when Holly performed the Ritual, to revive her magic. What were the best and worst things about this book? Worst- the time when Artemis captured Holly. Best- when the fairies and other magical creatures begin to conquer Artemis. I think anyone could like this book, especially people who like realistic fantasy.

The best thing was when it talks about the Olympics and Sid the kid vs. Alexander the gr8.However, there were one or two parts that were about media issues that weren’t as exiting as the other parts.Who do you think would like this book? The only person who would like this book would be some one who was a big fan of hockey and into the NHL or a kid who plays hockey and follows it. Otherwise, I don’t think other people would like the book because they wouldn’t know what the author and narrator were talking about at all.

This book was about this girl how was Mexican that lived in Texas and got made fun of for being a different culture and because she ate tacos or burritos. Describe the most exciting part of the book? It is at the end. What were the best and worst things about this book? That she got made fun of for being Mexican. Who do you think would like this book? Some one that does not like to read really big books but a book that is at a 7th grade level.

The book is about 4 main characters which is Massie Block has four friends, and she does not leave their side and they don’t leave hers. But, there is a “new girl in town”. A girl named Claire came to their house to stay there, until her family was okay again with their house and money and jobs. Massie doesn’t like Claire and she thinks that she wasted her time when she could be with her friends Dylan, Kristen, Alicia. Claire has trouble fitting in especially with Massie. To find out what happens next read the book and enjoy the series. To me there isn’t a “most important part in the book”The series get better as you read but the basics are in the first one. So I don’t think the first one, in my opinion, is not very entertaining but as you go on you will definitely like it a lot more than when you started. There is no best thing in my opinion, but there is a worst part. Massie And Claire aren’t friends and as hard as Claire tries Massie won’t budge.Who do you think would like this book? My friends because it gives advice and explains things that people like I would go through at this age. They would also get good entertainment out of this great book.

It’s mainly about six kids with supernatural talents but that’s the problem, scientists are after them which causes them to run for their lives and for their survival. The most exciting part was when Max discovers she has wings because when she jumps off the edge of a cliff she thinks she’s going to die but ends up flying. What were the best and worst things about this book? The best thing was that they were all still alive. The worst thing was when Jeb left and went to go to the scientists. People who like fantasy and action -this is the book for you.

This book was about this boy, Joe, who goes back in time and meets Honus Wagner. Joe finds out that the Wagner card, that he used to go back in time with, is worth $500,000. He decides not to sell the card. So when he goes back in time he pinch hit for Honus who hurt his hand.

The most exciting part of the book was when Joe got a triple.

The worst thing that happened was that some one tried to steal the Honus Wagner card. The best part of the book is when Joe finds out the card is worth $500,000.

For me basically the whole book because it is thrilling and leaves you hanging. What were the best and worst things about this book? The best was that it action packed and left me hanging, all the time. The worst part was that I felt bad for the main characters.Who do you think would like this book? This book was about this girl named Trudy and that her mother had her at age 53. As she enters middle school her parents are in their 60’s and 70’s. Most people are mistake that they are her grandparents. Trudy’s Pop is not doing very well, just so you know. The most exciting part of the book is when Trudy saw a boy that she liked and he asked her out to the school dance. The best and worst things about this book were that Trudy had made a true friend and Pop forgetting things. I think that everyone and/or anyone would like this book because it’s all part of life.

The book was about this girl named Joelle Cunningham and she moved from Minneapolis to Greendale. Back when she lived in Minneapolis she played baseball but, when she moved to Greendale they wouldn’t let her play. I think that the most exciting part of the book was when Joelle didn’t give up and she fought for what she wanted, and that was to play baseball. I don’t think that there was a worst thing about the book. But, there was a good thing about the book and that was when she finally got to play one baseball game. The book is about a young girl named Salamanca who is almost thirteen and her mother has passed away. Her dad and her have been living on a farm in Bybanks, Kentucky her whole life. Now her dad has met a new girl and they had to pack up all their belongings and move to Euclid, Ohio. Salamanca doesn’t think that they packed up all their belongings because they didn’t bring her swimming hole, chestnut tree, willow the maple or the hayloft! Salamanca is telling two stories one is in the car with her grandparents and one in Euclid, Ohio with her dad and his new “friend” Margaret. The most exciting part in the book was so exciting it was kind of scary. While Salamanca and her grandparents are in the river to cool off a snake comes over and bites her grandma’s leg and all of a sudden Salamanca looks over and she see’s someone coming toward her and her grandparents! The whole book is really good so I don’t think there was a anything bad about it or any part that was the best! Who do you think would like this book? Anyone!! This book is a great book to read and it is really interesting!!

Also everyone thought that Max was his father, because he looks exactly like him, so they were afraid of him because his father was a criminal. Also it’s about Max and freak's adventures and how they became freak the mighty. The most exciting part of the book is when the reader finds out that Max’s dad is out of jail. The best things about this book were when you found out something big, which happens a lot in this book and the bad things were it was very suspenseful but makes you want to keep reading.People who would like this book is people who like to read, suspense, and a touching story.

He wears glasses that make him look like a bug-eyed freak. Erik, his football-star brother, is a horrible person, but only Paul and his mother and father know it. Paul’s parents keep secrets from Paul about his glasses, Erik, and his life. Paul’s new teammates, from his soccer team, help him along the way. Paul has a very confusing life. The most exiting part the book was when the soccer team helps out at the groves during a big freeze. The best thing about this book is that it’s very descriptive. The worst part is that sometimes it drags on for a while. I think that people who like to read about people’s lives would like this book.

This book is about a family called the Tucks. Who drank from a magic spring, but they did not know it was magic. So the whole family drank from it except the cat. So now they must hide their secret from everyone. Until a girl named Winnie finds out and now they must kidnap her so no one knows! The most exiting part was when one evil hunter found out through following Winnie to the Tucks. Now they must move away from their home. The best part of the book was when May Tuck killed the evil hunter so now they were free from him. The worst part was when the police found out that May killed the hunter and was sent to the gallows to die but the problem was she can’t die because she drank from the spring.

Who do you think would like this book? I think my brother and cousin would love this book because they love to read mystical things together all the time.

What was this book about? Don’t give away the ending!: It was about a boy who was on a small plane with only a pilot. He was on his way to his dad’s house. Then the pilot had a heart attack and the plane crashed on island and he had to too find things to live off of and make a shelter. Describe the most exciting part of the book - When he was building his shelter, it made me feel like I was there because they were so descriptive. What were the best and worst things about this book? There wasn’t anything bad about this book but the best thing was the shelter and finding the food. Who do you think would like this book? I think people that like to read about the outdoors and exciting books.
