Samantha, a thirteen year old girl has a tought life. On top of Sam's unpleasent life her father is an alcoholic. All Sam wants is her family to stay together, but when she realizes her dad is just getting worse she thinks her and her little brother and mom are better off withought him. To try to get advice Sam begins to write notes to a girl in the library every day for help. Read Lush and find out if Sam can keep her family together or if they're better off without him. Lush is a good book for Silver Lake Middle School students because it is an exciting, and suspenseful book. If you like books that you don't want to stop reading then this would be an excelent choice. All Samantha wants is to help her family and when you read Lush you'll find out exactly how she does.
