This book is about a boy around 13 years old who has to save the forest from a demon bear. Torak must reach the Mountain of the World Spirit before the bear kills everything in the forest. A young wolf finds him on the journey and befriends Torak. Now they both must destroy the bear before the forest is doomed.This book is a great pick for students in Silver Lake Middle School to read because it has a lot of thrilling action and adventure to excite the reader. And the author, Michelle Paver, does a great job of pulling you into the book, as if you were there. If you like action and adventure, then this book is perfect for you.
