Martains are invading earth pre world war 1. At first the people of england think that the silinders are from the Germans or arn't real. Then the martains start to use the heat-ray and after a mounth the onle people left are in small pockets in villegs and abandond bases. I think people will like this book because it is told as if someone actually was a survivore of the event. This is both good and bad because it is an intresting way to tell a story but bad because you don't learn his name.
